Hexagon Led Ceiling Lights! Honeycomb Shape, 5500k Pure White Light Output
After wanting to run lights like these in my shop for a year or so, I'm happy to not only have them, but to be able to sell them with confidence. 7' 11" x 15' 10" (including rectangular border, which is not required). The entire assembly consists of two separate systems, the inner hexagons, and the outer rectangular border. You can run any combination of the two, since the inner section and the outer can each work on a separate power supply if desired. If you are removing a florescent or halogen fixture, and want to put these in it's place, its a very straight forward install.
The hot and neutral wires can be hard wired directly to the included wiring lead, while the ground wire can be tucked up and out of the way. These are not polarity specific, just hook them up and go. These are 6500k white light. It's very bright, and massively changes the feel of the space. Because there are so many sections spanning such a large area, there's a lot more light output than what a traditional 2 bulb fixture setup provides.Dark spots in the corner are now flooded with light, and you'll start to notice how much more you enjoy spending time in your shop because you can actually see what the hell you are doing. The hexagons are made up of 6 individual sections (obviouslyyyy), that are all the same size and length. These each snap together with small 2 and 3 sided 120 degree plastic connectors.
The outer borders are made up of much longer pieces and utilize straight and 90 degree connectors to achieve the large rectangular outside edge. Each plastic connector (pictured) has a small hole for a screw to run through. I personally prefer to use self-tapping molly assemblies in the drywall, or standard drywall/wood screws when there's a stud behind it. Depending on your specific set-up, you may or may not land on a stud ANYWHERE in this assembly.
That's okay though, these lights weigh very little and a drywall molly works flawlessly. You can of course get creative here and hang these things too. Clear wire, a chain, or anything similar would work well if you need to drop the assembly down from a vaulted ceiling or something like that. I recommend seeking out a professional electrician.Seriously, I'm super stoked on them.
